The Southern Temple is located in the remote Patola Mountain Range, and is said to only be accessible by Flying Bison. It has now been abandoned.

Located southeast to the Earth Kingdom, this is the only air temple to be housed on three separate mountains. The only known resident of this temple is Guru Pathik, a somewhat crazed old chakra master.

The Northern Temple is located in the upper reaches of the Earth Kingdom. The airbenders were said to all have been wiped out in the Air Nomad Genocide, like the other temples. This temple is currently populated by Earth Kingdom refugees.

The fourth, and final of the air temples. It is located to the north of the Fire Nation. Unlike the other temples, it is situated entirely underneath the edge of a cliff.

Located on the Capital Island, the Fire Nation Capital is in the western part of the Fire Nation. This is where the Fire Lord resides.

The Royal Palace is situated on a vast, beautiful estate filled with lush gardens and ponds. A wall encircling this estate separates the Palace from the rest of the city. The Palace itself is a single structure. An elaborate tower with triple eaves is at the center, with three distinct wings joining it.

Jang Hui is a small, poor village located in the outer islands of the Fire Nation. Located on the Jang Hui river, this unique Fire Nation village is made up of floating houseboats connected together.

An uninhabited island in the outer part of the Fire Nation that once housed a temple for the Fire Sages and a shrine to Avatar Roku.

Situated on a cliff above a river and waterfalls, and surrounded by beautiful mountains, this is one of the many small, peaceful villages that are tucked away throughout the Fire Nation islands.

Located on one of the outer islands of the Fire Nation, this upper-class school molds the young minds of the Fire Nation.

A small Fire Nation island which bore and was home to the previous Avatar Roku. Over 100 years ago, it was home to a prosperous village.

The Boiling Rock is a massive Fire Nation prison. This is where the most dangerous prisoners in the Fire Nation are held, domestic and foreign alike.

Ember Island is a small resort located in the outer islands of the Fire Nation. It is home to many luxurious resorts and vacation homes for the wealthy and powerful.

Fire Fountain City is a large, industrial city located in the Fire Nation. It is named for the large, fire-breathing statue of Fire Lord Ozai in its center. It is located on one of the many islands in the eastern half of the Fire Nation.

A large statue of Azulon stands in the middle of the sea entrance, flanked on either side by two statues of dragons. When enemy ships are spotted, a net rises between the statues and ignites, "closing" the gate in a wall of fire.

Located on an uninhabited island in the Fire Nation, the Black Cliffs are a very secluded place.

A sprawling, ancient city that was thought to be an uninhabited ruin. Much of this stone metropolis is now covered in vines and sits unused. This is because the tribe is much smaller than it used to be.

Ba Sing Se is the titanic capital of the Earth Kingdom, encompassing nearly all of the northeast corner of the kingdom. Ba Sing Se means "Impenetrable City"; the city is so named for its two world-famous walls, the gates of which have no hinges or other hardware and are opened by use of Earthbending.

Omashu is the second largest city in the Earth Kingdom and the capital of one of its provinces. Omashu is located in the Kolau Mountain Range in the southwestern Earth Kingdom. The city is built on a number of hills, and is surrounded by a wide gorge. It is currently under the control of the Fire Nation

Gaoling is a large town located within a mountain range in the southern Earth Kingdom. Gaoling is home to the Earth Rumble tournaments. An old, well-established city, Gaoling has a spectrum of people residing in it, ranging from the very rich to the very poor.

The Si Wong Desert is the largest desert in the world. It is known as the driest and hottest place in the world, and is almost impossible to successfully navigate. It is sparsely inhabited by Sandbender tribes.

The Serpent's Pass is a narrow strip of land between two large lakes that links the western and eastern halves of the Earth Kingdom, and is one of the very few direct paths to the capital, Ba Sing Se.

Makapu Village is a small farming town located in the northwestern Earth Kingdom on the slopes of the dormant Mt. Makapu. It is notable for being the place of residence of the fortuneteller Aunt Wu.

This small, forest village is one of many that dot the Earth Kingdom landscape. The Fire Nation does not occupy it because it has no significant military advantage. Its villagers are mostly farmers and traders.

The Great Divide can be crossed in about a full day if one has an expert guide. The canyon is home to various insects and omnivorous arachnoid creatures.

The Plains Village is located in the arid grasslands of the southern Earth Kingdom, to the west of the Si Wong Desert.

Kyoshi Island is a small island off the southern coast of the Earth Kingdom, dotted with many small villages. It is famous as the birthplace of Avatar Kyoshi. The island is the home of the elite Kyoshi Warriors.

Taku is an abandoned city in the western Earth Kingdom. It was an important centre of commerce. The city was destroyed by the Fire Nation in its first wave of attacks.

The Kolau Mountain Range is located in the southwestern Earth Kingdom, near the provincial capital of Omashu. The mountains are held to be the place where Earthbending was developed

Chin Village is a small town located on the cliffs of the Earth Kingdom's southwestern coast. It plays host to the unique "Avatar Day" festival, a celebration in honor of the Avatar.

Full Moon Bay is a secluded cove in the Eastern Lake, located just south of Ba Sing Se. It is the location of a hidden ferry station that refugees from all over the southern portion of the earth kingdom come to on their way to Ba Sing Se.

The village is situated by a river and there are trees surronding the town. Many farms are also located around the village. In the center of the village there is a large building and a tree, while on the outskirts are simple houses.

Wulong Forest is a forest that lies on the coast of the western regions of the Earth Kingdom. It is notable for the hundreds of rock columns that tower over the landscape.

The Abbey is a medium-sized construction that can be found on a few miles away from the Mo Ce Sea on the west coast of the Earth Kingdom.

The Mining Village is a medium-sized village located in the Earth Kingdom. It is located on the Northwestern coast of the Earth Kingdom, and its inhabitants make a living by mining coal in several nearby mines.

The Southern Water Tribe is the southern division of the Water Tribe. Its people are scattered in tiny villages and settlements located across the South Pole. Only one of these villages have been seen during the series.

The Northern Water Tribe is the northern division of the Water Tribe, Sister of the Southern Water Tribe. Its people are entirely contained within one city located at the North Pole, which is referred to by the same name.

The Foggy Swamp Tribe is one of the three Water Tribes in the Avatar World. It is notable in that they do not live at one of the Poles; they instead are located in the Foggy Swamp, located in the Earth Kingdom.

Whale Tail Island is a large island situated off of the southwestern coast of the Earth Kingdom and among the Southern Air Nomad archipelago.

The Pirate Ship Boutique is the place where, for security reasons, the pirates sell their wares from aboard their ship. Doing so provides privacy for illegal transactions and it is the easiest way for the pirates to stay mobile, avoiding arrest.
